Love the clean look of the packaging – easy to use with its build in pump and convenient. I was pleasantly surprised on how well it took of my makeup and oily residue with its foamy, light, fluffy Β texture. BUT after a couple of uses, I did find this cleanser to cause me itchiness and irritation on my skin, especially the sensitive lower half of my face.

I stopped the usage the next day and tried it again the day after and noticed the after results to be the same to the point where I decided not to give it a try anymore. Not sure, if it was just the product doing its job or because I may have sensitive skin but this did not suit me well. The itchiness went off the day after I moisturized my face which was good.

Now, of course results may vary from skin type to skin type. In fact, I have read and heard a lot of people loving Neostrata and that it has changed their skin texture, feel, and look tremendously but it also maybe because they have oily skin as opposed to mine.

So, I would conclude that Neostrata foaming glycolic wash maybe directly proportional to your skin type. It most likely will work for you if you have oily skin, but I cannot vouch for that since I have dry/sensitive skin. If you have oily prone / acne / fine lines etc., I would recommend looking into this further to see if this can work for you. I have read amazing reviews on people loving this product as well but too bad it did not do much for me.

I have been wondering whether I should try something with glycolic acid, but like you said, I am worried about it making my skin worse! I have super sensitive skin, but keep hearing about all these glycolic peels and what not. Thanks for the review. Very informative.

Yeah I feel you. Personally I did not do justice for me, it itched my skin a lot and I found some irritation. I think glycolic acid would be great for oily prone skin.

Thanks for the honest review … Usually I don’t like foamy, fluffy type wash .. that makes my skin more drier πŸ™

    • alifyalifestyle May 11, 2017 at 11:04 pm

Hmm that’s true but I usually love foamy washes but not so much for this one.

My skin is sensitive too. But Thanks for the post.

Hey, Neostrata is a Canadian company! πŸ˜€
But, that’s not good that you experienced sensitivity to it. I gathered that it could be due to the high % of glycolic acid. If you want AHA exfoliation, you’re better off using lactic acid, it’s more gentle.

    • alifyalifestyle May 11, 2017 at 11:36 pm

Yeah exactly it was the glycolic acid but thanks for the suggestion! And that’s cool, I was not aware of it being a Canadian company! πŸ™‚

I have not tried anything from Neostrata before. Do you think this would be suitable for combination skin type?

    • alifyalifestyle May 12, 2017 at 2:03 am

Um maybe! But I would do my research before though πŸ™‚

  • xoJenny May 12, 2017 at 1:34 pm

Oh gosh I always get minor anxiety after trying out a new face wash or product, my skin is so sensitive and prone to break outs that I’d probably have a slight panic attack if I was getting itchiness and irritation! I haven’t thought about using glycolic acid based face wash but now I know definitely to stay away!!!! Thanks for the heads up!

“For experienced glycolic acid users”…lol. I didn’t know you had to have experience with an ingredient prior to using a product lol. That sucks it didn’t work out but maybe it was because of that key ingredient? Your skin is not used to it, and it is high strength. Even though I have acne prone skin, I don’t think I would try this product lol. Maybe if they have one that’s not so high strength. I do like the benefits of glycolic acid as my skin has lots of texture.

    • alifyalifestyle May 12, 2017 at 5:35 pm

Yeah that is the first time I have heard that too. But you never know since I read reviews on people with oily / acne prone skin that it worked wonders on their skin so yes I do believe since I have dry skin it did not work for me. Thanks for stopping by hun! πŸ™‚

  • Simera May 12, 2017 at 4:26 pm

Yikes I think I will pass on this since I have dry sensitive skin. Itchiness is something I can not deal with.

Skin care prorducts are so hit and miss sometimes – I’m often quite skeptical to try new ones as skin is so important to me. I have combination skin so it’s quite tough sometimes to find something that works for me!
