These NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies are perfect for the go! Their smooth satin finish appears sheer and is buildable to a darker consistency as per personal preference. Their title obviously claims to be hydrating which it does exactly that! I find it very similar to a chap stick; it’s easy to use and apply without any hassle whilst providing your lips with a pop of color which is ideal for a quick makeup application if your running late or if you just simply can’t be bothered too much on that particular day!
I got my package in four different colors; their crayon like exteriors are in the color they represent which is convenient since they can be spot easily among our mountain heaps of makeup. They are plastic overall with a plastic clear cap and it also comes with a twisting cap at the bottom which allows more of the product to pop out. These hydrating lippies typically last around 2-3 hours so that’s not too long if you think about it but honestly that does not bother me too much. Like I said, I think of these as chap sticks so just throw them into your bag and pull them out for a retouch whenever needed. I believe they are sold individually for about $6 but I bought mine from Ultas for $14.99 which is a total bargain, considering I got four of these in one package.
- Hibiscus Tea Punch (CDHL 06):
This shade is actually my favorite among the lot! I love nude colors in general and I find this quite appealing to my skin tone and love the overall sheer satiny finish to it. It’s a lovely color for an everyday ongoing look and if you fancy the no-makeup/natural look then this color is just right for you!
2) Cherry Smash (CDHL 10):
I usually prefer my reds or my darker shades in a more matte tone so I wouldn’t say I absolutely love this shade but I do not dislike it either. It’s good for a change; it can be subtle to just give you that glimse of ‘just been kissed’ sorta look and it is buildable for a more darker red as well.
3) Pink Bikini (CDHL 08):
This soft, light pink tone is absolutely perfect for spring/summer! It is such a gorgeous shade and will definitely be put more in use in the coming months!
4) Caramel Martini (CDHL 09):
This last one would again go in the direction of the dark shades where I much prefer them to be matte but to my pleasant surprise I actually quite like this one. Its creamy, satin texture leaves your lips feeling hydrated and I enjoy the color/look of it on my lips. I did discover that the sheer glistening finish wears off after a little while leaving a semi-matte effect so that really appealed to me in this particular color. I think you could pull this color off during the summer but most definitely during fall through winter!
Hope this review was helpful. Have any of you tried these? If so, what did you think of it!?
