It is inevitable that music is directly correlated to our emotions and atmosphere. Whether we use music to evoke happiness, inspiration, to repair wounds, for therapy, religious or healing purposes, it affects each of us in different ways at different times. Isn’t it mesmerizing how music has SO much power in this world that also helps us connect globally!?

For me, music is definitely an escape. Like many, I associate music with events. I can get super nostalgic with music and smell and nothing brings me joy when it takes me back to certain days and memories from the past. Of course, it also has the power of digging in deeper wounds but that’s all part of life, isn’t it? Actually, in some ways it’s good because then you can compare yourself to where you are now as opposed to where you were before.

Many of us are aware that the right music beat can lower your blood pressure, slow your pulse, and put you to ease. Studies show that listening to music can also reduce anxiety and the intensity of which you feel pain.

Music can take pain and turn it into something beautiful. So, if you are having a bad day, put on some good music and fill in that silence because that’s what good music does. It speaks to you.

How has music affected or changed you in your life!??

Love,

Psst..Let’s be social!

Sounds cheesy to say, but music actually sort of saved my life once. When my anxiety was at its peak, and depression was setting in. Worst time of my life. Music gave me inspiration, comfort, hope, and joy. To this day, i can’t go on a day without music. I owe my life to it, literally.

I love posts about music; it really does help through hard times in life. I never understood how people don’t use music as an escape at some points in their life lol 🙂

Sometimes I listen to songs on repeat! 😛 🙂 Do you play any instruments? I play the piano – it’s so cathartic.

I listen to songs I love on repeat too and then it’s always stuck in my head and never get out lol. Oh i wish I could play the piano, that is actually one my goals to full fill!! But I have always been in the choir and really enjoy singing 🙂

Either classical music or classical jazz is playing in this house, Alifya. When driving I listen to a rock station that plays music I grew up with. My Dad was a musician so yes music is in my blood. Much Love, <3

Awesome post on music!! I love music too specially country side music.

I always say that I wish I could have music playing around me at all times of the day. Theres so many different kinds of moods you can attach to music depending on who and what you listen to and for that I love it. And just as you said, I correlate so many songs to so many memories, I think studies even said that music is suppose to help with memory which I absolutely believe. I’ll leave it to Eric Church when he says, “funny how a melody sounds like a memory” 🙂

Yeah that’s so true! I have heard of people rushing with music in the background because they feel like it helps them remember better! Interesting right! Personally, I prefer studying without music but I love painting, cooking, and pretty much doing anything else creative whilst listening to music 🙂

Music does wonders. I was a music minor in college, and I merged it with my sociology degree by doing a study on how listening to music while studying affects academic performance. Life would be much different without music.

Oh that’s lovely to know!! Do you play an instrument? I have heard about that study as well, truly is amazing! 🙂

I used to play the piano, but I did focused on music theory in the minor and sang in the chorus.

That’s awesome!! Always wanted to learn to play the piano..maybe someday! I sang in chorus too 🙂

I don’t listen to music as much as I would like to but when I meet someone, I kinda get different points of view about the person if I don’t like the music he/she listens 😜

lol you will be surprised to what people listen to and how they come off in person..a good surprise of course 🙂

I always have music playing in the background. My favourite is when I’m alone in the car, I love cranking the volume up and remembering where I was when I first heard it or memories of when I loved hearing it. Pure Joy!

    • Reply alifyalifestyle January 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm

Music in the car is special to me too!! I enjoy it so much and I always tend to not to talk to anyone in the car because I’m lost in the music lol

Love this post! I am a musician, and taking up my instruments quite literally changed my life for the better. Personally, I think the best part about music is that whether or not someone is there for you, music will always be there for you. I do post content about music on my blog, so do check it out if you’re interested x
