Since moving to California only two months back and while I’m still under the process of settling down and unwinding, I still want to make it a point to explore all the wonderful places that surrounds this beautiful state. Two weeks back we went on a little stay-cation to Lake Tahoe, which was most talked about from people I know and also from ‘things to do’ online.
The weather was absolutely perfect; the cool crisp autumn air made me bundle up with cardigans and boots that felt homey while it still being sunny. The 4 hour drive to Lake Tahoe was SO breathtakingly beautiful! I have never seen such clear, blue waters before that had a magnificent sunshine sparkle to it all across its surface. There were just so many gorgeous points to stop at and admire and it was just lovely to just sit by the benches overlooking mountains, trees, and the clear crystal lake. (Although, we did have a bit of a bee attack scenario that made hubsy a little annoyed after he got stung by one…ah, nature memories!)
We stayed at a lovely hotel overnight and the staff and people were very amicable. We were at a quite prime and convenient location with a walking distance to the beach and the centre town that was so lively strolling around at night. With plenty of amazing restaurants, cozy cafes, antique stores, dim lighting, people laughing, warm fires, it all simply felt so wonderful, inviting, warm and OH SO AUTUMNAL! It got quite chilly at night which made me most excited since it added to the warm, charming vibe even more.
I am told that visiting Lake Tahoe in late October is actually the best time to visit if you are an Autumn lover like me! With the color of the trees changing and the air getting even cooler, I can only imagine how beautiful it will be! So, if you are living in California and have not been to Lake Tahoe yet this would be the ideal time to go visit and unwind!
What places are on your list to visit for this Fall!!??
